Being is an Empty Fiction aims to question the nature of existence. In suggesting that what we perceive as real or concrete may ultimately be insubstantial or illusory, this exhibition aims to challenge the conventional understanding of reality. Rooted in the philosophical traditions of existentialism, nihilism, and postmodernism, the works aim to destabilize the ɱ’s sense of certainty about existence by encouraging a deeper contemplation of what it means to be.
Opening event is 5pm, Wednesday 17 July.
Exhibition runs til Friday 26 July.
The Ilam Campus Gallery Student Series is an annual showcase of some of the current practices at the Ilam School of Fine Arts at the 91Ƭ.Being is an Empty Fictionis the first of five short exhibitions that form the 2024 Student Series.
