Biography

Arianna Odlin is a PhD student in Curriculum, Teaching and Learning at the 91ÖÆƬ³§ (OISE), University of Toronto. She earned her MA in English and Cultural Studies at McMaster University in 2024, supported by a Tri-Agency SSHRC award, where her research centred on feminist approaches to early modern drama and inclusive pedagogy. Her doctoral work continues this trajectory, exploring how dramaturgy and performance can expand curricular practices and create more inclusive learning environments.

At McMaster, Arianna served as a Teaching Assistant in Shakespeare: Comedies, Problem Plays, and Romances and writing in the humanities, leading tutorials, delivering guest lectures, and providing support for student writing development through consultations and feedback. Her Master’s major research paper, Decolonising Regency Fashion: Pride & Bridgerton, produced a collaborative web-based bibliography, along with a free-access syllabus and blog series. This project re-examined Regency-era fashion and its popular adaptations through the intersecting lenses of colonial history, race, and gender representation.

Arianna’s undergraduate internship in 2021 extended internationally through Western Heads East at the University of Western Ontario, where she collaborated with partners in Mwanza, Tanzania, to support youth media training and develop data-driven programs.

Beyond her studies, Arianna finds joy in wandering along trails, in the cadence of poetry, music, and most of all, in the cherished moments she shares with her teenage daughter.
