Libraries

06 October 2023

UC has three libraries on campus - the Central, EPS, and Macmillan Brown. Most of our resources are available online but we also have significant physical collections. As well as resources, our libraries provide study spaces and a range of facilities. We also have skilled library staff available to help you find resources.

HOW TO APPLY

The principles of the Treaty of Waitangi inform all services at the 91制片厂 Library.

These principles are k膩wanatanga, tino rangatiratanga, protection of rights under the Treaty, partnership as a principle of mutuality and participation to ensure equitable access.

As a university library the core work we do is the provision of information resources and services, with the goal of providing equitable outcomes for our communities to meet lifelong learning needs.

Whakahoahoa | partnership

We work collaboratively to build the trust needed for respectful, genuine relationships with our community, with particular recognition of Ng膩i T奴膩huriri as mana whenua.

Kotahitanga | unity and teamwork

We work together and share our knowledge openly, recognising that we can achieve more together than we can on our own. We consider the impact of our actions on each other and on the team and the Library as a whole.

Manaakitanga | caring for people

Our relationships are based on respect and caring for every person.

We act with honesty and integrity and communicate openly. We are clear about our intentions and act in good faith. We take responsibility for our decisions and actions.

We acknowledge that each person has different beliefs, viewpoints and knowledge. We believe that through valuing this diversity and working inclusively, we can get the best results together.

Ako me te M膩tauranga | learning and knowledge

We support the pursuit of education, life-long learning and scholarship. We recognise that cultural frameworks shape knowledge and we respect knowledge as a taonga passed from generation to generation in accordance with tikanga.

Kaitiakitanga | guardianship

We treasure and protect our collections as resources for learning, teaching and research now and in the future. We apply tikanga M膩ori to our M膩ori collections.

The Library鈥檚 strategic focus is governed by听Tangata T奴, Tangata Ora | UC Strategic Vision 2020-2030.

Focusing on these goals allows us to embrace the challenges of the changing library environment and lead our students and academics into a new era of interconnectedness and intellectual opportunity.
